In an association run by member-volunteers, you have an opportunity to step into leadership roles you may not have in your outside life.
Work your way through the various Board positions at the Club level, and if you desire, progress through the next level to the Association level and possibly even become National President. Mentoring is always available and deep friendships are forged as you work together in a supportive group.
Through doing this, you’ll learn an enormous amount about leadership. You’ll learn the skills to facilitate meetings, manage people, inspire action, handle group discussions, parliamentary procedure, financial record keeping, report and minutes compilation, and not-for-profit governance just to name a few.
Involvement on the Boards is optional, but recommended – the more involved you become, the more you learn.
